The Ab Doer is the creation of John Abdo, who designed it to get abs and oblique muscles toned and tightened quickly and easily. It works with movements that are similar to sit-ups or crunches, but without the pain or strain on the body. It simulates crunches but in an upright position, making it easier on the neck, back, and joints, and making crunches achievable for people who cannot do traditional sit-ups and crunches while lying on the floor.
To use it, have a seat on the padded area of the device, and set your feet on the floor at shoulder-width apart. Hold onto the handle grips firmly with your arms over the bars. Then, contract the abdominal muscles and use them to bring your body toward your knees. Keep your ab muscles contracted the whole time, and hold in that position for two seconds before releasing them and easing back to the original position. Repeat this maneuver 15 to 20 times or as many times as your doctor or trainer recommends.
To access the oblique muscles, begin in the same position, contract the abdominal muscles and then turn the waist from left to right while bending, keeping the abs contracted. Repeat 15 to 20 times or as recommended by your doctor or trainer.
