You want to be a different you health wise and physically but don’t know where to begin? Well, just begin! Making small active nutrition changes will take a strong determination and a habit forming behavioral shift. Do this by changing the way you eat and by starting to become more active. Doing this will not only help you, but your family will probably follow your example while you are leading them to a much healthier and longer life.
Getting Started
Writing your activities and food choices down will be the first thing you need to do for at least one week. People tend to make decisions based on a habit, which is dangerous because we tend not to think when we do things out of habit. Change this around by writing and having your mind actively get involved with you getting healthier.
It is important that you go and see your physician so that he can tell you where you stand before you get started. Whatever data he comes up with (blood pressure, sugar levels, cholesterol, weight, etc) will determine how you need to get started and it will also give you something to compare when you complete your goals.
Steps to Leading a Healthier Lifestyle
Step #1- Don’t go out to eat. Stay home and prepare your meals. If you have the time, grow fresh delicious vegetables and fruit in your backyard, as you will need to eat these at least five times a day; this is very healthy and cost effective. Get rid of the sugar, junk food, and processed foods in your diet.
Step #2- When you go to work and your children go to school, make a decision to start taking a lunch with you. This way you can control what everyone eats.
Step #3- Start walking the dog, jogging, skating, running, and playing with the kids in the backyard. In other words, get active and stay active. Include strength training with your weekly routine.
Quick results are what people want to typically see, but if you do this nice and slow, I guarantee that you will get lasting and healthy results. Well, stop reading about active nutrition and start living it!
