Anxiety is a debilitating affliction that has a huge bearing on not only your life but also those around you. The following tips to help you relax have proved to be very successful with some, but it really depends on how much you want to help yourself.
Taking regular exercise is my first tip. I don’t mean a walk to the store once a week, real exercise done regularly so you feel the benefits.
Okay, here’s the deal. You suffer from anxiety, want to get better but hate exercise. Well, that’s tough basically. If you work out or go for a swim or a cycle four times a week or more I guarantee you will feel better and a whole lot more relaxed. So you owe it to yourself to try it.
Swapping your regular drinks for herbal teas can have a great effect on your mind and your body. The calming effects of Chamomile and Jasmine are well documented and can really help you to relax.
If you are getting yourself all worked up because nothing is working yet, you will just make yourself worse. Ok, so exercise and tea didn’t work, so now try meditation. Seriously, this is a centuries old method of relaxation that has many known benefits and its advocates recommend it to everyone.
Music is an incredibly powerful medium, and lying down in a room with music playing in the background will relax both your body and mind. If you fancy being a bit more adventurous learn to play an instrument. Your stress levels will fall to an all time low and you will have accomplished something as well.
Now you’ve read through all these strategies, you may be chomping at the bit to get in there and try them. A word of warning, with the exception of the tea, only choose one and stick to it. You need to spend a lot of time doing these techniques, and if you try and do two or three you’ll be stressing out by trying to keep them all going, so only one at a time.
It’s your turn now, pick your strategy and begin your journey to relaxation and stress relief.
