Many overweight and obese teens and adults are resorting to dangerous methods for losing weight fast. Their self-esteem is so low, they will try anything to be thin even if it’s harmful to their health and may cause death. What drives consumers to resort to such risky measures? This kind of addiction is just like bulimia and anorexia nervous and quite often, psychological intervention is needed to break the habit.
The health hazards from laxative abuse are countless, but take a look at a few for thought. Abusing laxatives can cause serious dehydration and eventually cause cardiac arrest. They will pump the body full of fluids until arms swell and veins collapse. Why? Because they have no choice if they would like to save your life.
Listed above are just some of the consequences resulting from overuse of laxatives. Before embarking on such a heinous path, one must first consider the outcome. This is simply not tips on how to proceed for secure and efficient weight loss. Obesity is a concern and shouldn’t be taken lightly, but there are safe alternatives instead of using a self-destructive course in which it may leave you permanently impaired.
Find out someone who is addicted to laxatives; please make an effort to be sure they get the psychological help they so desperately need. This is the serious condition and should be treated immediately. If their condition is ignored, you may lose them for life and gone will be the second chances making it right. When ever I go away on holiday I always find it challenging to stick to my healthy diet. Firstly, it can be very difficult to find fat burning foods when you’re in a strange town or a foreign country. And then there is always the risk that you’ll go off the rails and revert to eating junk food.
So here are a few tips to help you find healthy foods when you go on vacation.
Go Grilled
Don’t just shelve your good habits when you go on vacation. Or you’ll be sure to shelve your lean physique too! Delicious and satisfying foods are available wherever you go, and you don’t need to sacrifice nutritional value either.
So remember that you’re aiming for grilled meat and fish. And stay well away from fried foods.
If you’re visiting a coastal town or city the chances are that there will be an endless supply of fresh seafood. If you’re heading inland then it is more likely that red meat and poultry will dominate the menu.
Remember to trust your experience and knowledge when choosing from the menu. Is the food prepared in a way that seems healthy to you? Would you be prepared to cook this way? If not then it’s best to make another choice!

Whenever I’ve traveled I’ve found the smaller, local places do the best food. Whether it’s because they take pride in showcasing the fresh, local produce, or because they take more pride in how the food tastes I’m not sure. Well maybe it’s both! But locally sourced food generally means fresh, natural and delicious.
Local restaurants, and their chefs, specialize in getting the most flavor out of their food! And this is good for you because it typically means that healthier cooking options are used, rather than convenience, processed foods and cooking techniques.
However, fast food chains are known for sourcing low quality, mass produced foods. And preparing them in an unhealthy way.
Remember, if there is an ingredient that you know is bad for you then you can always ask the chef to leave that out of your meal. Or you can remove it from your plate once you are served.
Be Prepared
Whether you’re out on a day trip or lounging about on the beach, you’re going to need to satisfy your hunger at some point.
But when you’re in unfamiliar surroundings it can be hard to find a place to eat. And if you do, you’re only choice might be an ice cream stall and a greasy diner!

I am a massive fan of mixed nuts. These nutritional powerhouse are filling and great for blasting belly fat. So I travel with them as much as I can.

Slightly more fragile than mixed nuts, fresh fruit (with a skin or in Tupperware) is also a healthy and handy option. I’m a big fan of picking up a couple of pieces of fruit from my hotel’s breakfast bar and packing them in my day bag.
I go for a banana, apples, oranges, kiwi… you get the picture.
Take The Time To Enjoy Yourself
A vacation isn’t a vacation if you aren’t enjoying yourself. And the occasional treat is all part and parcel of that.
Don’t be afraid to look at the dessert menu. If you see something that looks irresistible then go for it. I personally enjoy a good dessert once in a while.
But don’t go thinking that you can get away with eating a dessert with every meal! Remember what refined sugar does to you; it leaves you feeling bloated, lethargic, sluggish, not to mention it puts your body into fat storage mode!
It really all comes down to being sensible and trusting your choices. If you’re following a balanced, healthy and fat burning nutritional program then you’ll know your limits, and you won’t be craving junk foods in the first place!
Finally, don’t get stressed out by factors you can’t control. If you’re eating out then the quality and preparation of your food is out of your hands. There will never be a perfect “holiday diet”. But by following the tips and tricks above you can still go home in great shape.
