The Right Way To Use A Bathroom Scale

If you hate your bathroom scale, there are two things you can do. Start a diet and exercise program and buy one of the new, more accurate bathroom scales. If you’ve had your scale more than 5 years, its time to replace it.
You can even get scales today that look so good you don’t mind them being out and seen. Even though you do not buy them to decorate your bathroom it is nice to know that they are not eyesores. They come in all shapes, sizes and colors almost. Many home decorating stores sell them in fact.
If you weigh under 250 you can buy just about any of the scales digital or traditional type to get your weight. But the heavier you get over 250, you may find you have to switch to different models to get a reading. So make sure to have the right scale for the job it has to do. There are medical scales that will go up to 660 pounds. These scales do come with a high price tag, but are worth it if you need them to weight correctly.
Today the scales can also be made to read your muscle mass, water weight, or your fat mass. Make sure you are going to use these functions though before you purchase a scale that has them included. The scales that provide you all this information do cost you more. The digital models are nice that are available today. They are quite easy to read and come in a variety of weight limits. You may prefer these compared to the manual dial ones. Either one can be accurate though.
Most diet programs tell you not to weight everyday. This is due to the fact that your weight can fluctuate from day to day. They recommend you weight 1 to 3 times weekly depending on the particular diet plan.
If you keep losing weight according to the scales, then no adjustment is needed in your diet plan. But if you see that you have hit a plateau and that you cannot seem to keep losing, then you should make adjustments to your eating to get you back on track with losing.
Additional features on the new bathroom scales are another indicator of your progress. If you haven’t lost any weight, check your muscle mass and fat mass. If your muscle mass has increased and your fat mass has decreased, you are still progressing. Muscle weights more than fat. Water weight can also disguise your progress.
Your bathroom scale can be your friend. Use an accurate scale once a week to measure the progress of your fitness program. It may be the most important piece of fitness equipment you own.
