The Lemon Juice Detox was absolutely the right thing for me, but it isn’t right for everybody. I have got my energy back, am no longer picking up every bug that comes my way and I’ve lost a whopping 33lb too. I’m so glad I decided to give the Lemon juice detox a go because I feel happier and healthier than I’ve felt in years.

I didn’t go into it lightly and my research showed that there were many differeing views about the detox and a wide range of varying recipes and rules. I’ll start by sharing the recipe that got me the best results and this is the original recipe with no tweaks;

* 8 Fluid Ounces of Spring Water

* 2 Table Spoons Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice (does not need to be organic unless your juicer compresses the skins too)

* 2 Tbl Spns of Pure Maple Syrup – Grade B

* Cayenne Pepper – Only 1/10th of a Tspn

You’re done, there is nothing else that you need to add to this mix – regardless of what you might hear. You don’t need to invest in special palm oils or ingredients, just use what I have given you above.

For FIFTY years, this has been the recipe of choice and it’s based on the Master Cleanse by Stanley Burroughs. Although you might be inclined to tweak it and try other versions, I would encourage you to give this tried and tested version a go as it has proven results.

To help you filter out any confusion about this and version of the detox diet, let me give you some of the names thrown about that are all fundamentally based on the original Master Cleanse, I’m sure you’ve heard of some of the following; the Lemon Detox Diet, the Maple Syrup Diet (made famous by Beyonce), Lemonade Diet, Cayenne Pepper Diet, Lemon Juice Detox and Lemon Detox.

I tend to refer to it as the Lemon Juice Detox as I think it pretty much sums it up! You’ll read many versions and there are even ‘relaxed’ versions out there now too, though I have only ever done the 100% detox version and the results from that have been phenominal and I’ve never felt better!

You should be aware that it’s not a walk in the park, and anyone that tells you it’s a breeze is probably trying to sell you something. The fact is – it’s hard when you first start it and parts of it, like the Salt Water Flush (in the version I do) is quite vile but you have to weigh up the pro’s against the cons. Also, you do get used to the salt water flush and after a few days of your body adapting, you start to feel amazing. However, I can fully appreciate why some people don’t make it past day 1 or feel rubbish and give up by day 3.

I remember that around day 4 I was suffering some awful headaches and this is common, but even then I focused on my health and weightloss and got through it.

So – what’s the good news then? Well, by day 4-5 you will start to feel amazing. Your body is now in full detox and eliminating all of the poisons you’ve ben carrying around and building up. You’ll feel moments of complete peace and elation, it really is quite unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I planned to do seven days on my first detox, this rose to ten and I finally finished on day nineteen!

So, will it be right for you? Well, I’d always suggest you check that you’re fit to go ahead with your GP before embarking on it and as long and he or she says yes, then go for it! Many GPs actively support and encourage the master cleanse and it’s many benefits are well documented, including the lowering of high blood pressure.

The Lemon Juice Detox, in my opinion, is quite probably one of the fastest ways to lose weight. With incredible results of my own, it’s the first thing I advise for rapid weight loss.

The speed of the weight-loss on the lemon detox is really astonishing but this detox has been tried, tested and proven over a period of fifty years.

This isn’t just a fast way to lose weight, this is a safe way to lose weight, with proven health benefits. I normally tend to focus more on the health aspects of the detox but it’s hard to ognore the weight loss benefits of it.

If you weigh more than is deemed appropriate for your height, or you are feeling uncomfortable and unhealthy with your weight, then then losing weight it obviously going to be a positive health aspect that you might want to consider.

Once you get on this weightloss ride, it becomes easier and easier. You may not believe me but it’s logical if you think about it. When you are over weight it makes you sluggish and you do less exercise. But once the weight starts to come off, you have a ton of energy that needs burning off so you naturally move around more. This then leads to further weight loss and your body becomes highly efficient and burning excess calories.

I tend to walk a lot more now and I haven’t put the weight back on that I lost – 33lb in total now. I will continue to detox in a sensible manner, probably leaving a few months in between each one and aiming for 2 – 3 detoxes over a period of a year. Any more is a bit too much really.

To conclude, I’m glad that I am starting to focus a little more on the weight loss aspects of the detox as it really is the fastest way to lose weight. It may have many major health benefits on the inside but who can deny the benefits of weight loss if it’s something you need?
