Restless Leg Syndrome And Massage Chair Therapy

Have you often felt that your leg just doesn’t feel comfortable whichever way you position it? If so, then you might be suffering from Restless Leg Syndrome, and there are proven techniques which will give you near-instantaneous relief. This disorder is characterized by certain sensations in your lower leg like tingling, pins and needles, prickling, drawing, pulling, shooting pains, and an irresistible urge to move your leg. Moving your leg usually does provide temporary relief.
A massage helps your body’s tired and sore muscles to relax and de-stress and often helps in curing certain problems. Of specific benefit may be the massaging ottoman of the popular massage chairs. Foot and calf massaging is beneficial for some restless leg syndrome sufferers. These problems include those suffering from restless Leg Syndrome or RLS. Often those suffering from the Restless Leg Syndrome are unable to sleep at night as their symptoms flare up excessively later at night. RLS may be caused by a variety of factors including vitamin deficiency, high caffeine or salt intake or even a previous injury to the legs.
Medical practitioners with sleep inducing drugs and painkillers might be able to help, but those who might be willing to experiment with alternative healing techniques and not pump their body full of chemicals, may find relief through massage based therapy, like a massage chair recliner. And alternative healing methods are preferable as they have no side effects and do not harm the body in any manner.
Massage, when applied to the lower limbs of a patient who is experiencing a lot of discomfort, helps to increase blood circulation to that area and that might in turn help to reduce the painful sensations in that area. A qualified masseuse will also offer suggestions for home treatment, along with the massage therapy, like ice packs, hot water baths and compresses, and massage chair recliners with massaging ottomans, depending on the kind of complaint. They might also encourage you to do some light exercises to improve and maintain proper levels of blood circulation in your body as well. Proper blood circulation helps to keep your body healthy and is the objective of a massage as well for the body is fully capable of repairing itself, should it be given sufficient nutrients and enough oxygen, both of which are determined by the rate of blood circulation.
Massage chair therapy is totally safe and can be used by anyone, as massages do not have any side effects on their own. So when Restless Leg Syndrome patients often seek massage based therapy as a supplement to their existing therapy this is the best choice. Remember, pain killers have a lot of side effects and they also need to confirm whether massages may be counter productive to the medication they might be taking. However it is also important to remember that prescription drugs can merely mask the symptoms and only give temporary relief as they do not try to tackle or cure the problem at hand.

Massage Chairs: Can They Help Diabetics?
March 14, 2010 by Eric Climintine

Currently diabetics suffer a lot as there are no medicines that cure- insulin, a controlled diet, and exercise can help to keep their symptoms under check. Complimentary and alternative medicines have certain remedies that can go along way to help resume a normal life for diabetics, which eases their problems a lot. A professional massage can help diabetics to feel invigorated and relaxed at the same time. These techniques are often preferable and have fewer side effects, one of these techniques is massage chair therapy. Massage chair therapy is robotic and reduces a lot of the diabetic complications, through massage.
Massage therapy goes hand in hand with massage chair therapy, which is used to help diabetics reduce complaints of pain. Massage stimulates increased blood flow around vital organs and blood circulation which in-turn benefits those with diabetic neuropathy, and associated pains.
Massage chair therapy is administered through the use of a massage chair. Massage chair techniques are suited to specific kinds of complaints and general well being because it can target specific areas of the body for best overall effectiveness. As you choose massage therapy always seek professional guidance as to what would be most beneficial for the best desired mode of relaxation.
Gentle massage helps to clear the toxins out of your body which can greatly help with increased health and strength. A massage administered by a massage chair can manage blood sugar levels and blood pressure levels by increasing blood circulation and maintaining it. The benefits of massage are extremely beneficial for diabetics. Massage will give certain party of your body the right pressure responsible for holding back toxins in your body and releasing the right ones.
These pressure points provide a lot of pleasure when massaged properly and as they also points where muscular tension builds up, you will find that massaging these points helps to relax you instantly. There are a lot of these points on the feet, and specialized massage treatments like reflexology depend on these points alone to give relief.
Regular massage requires you to remove your clothes where a massage chair session will not require you to move anything, however removing your shoes is nice. In any massage it is nice to not have any uncomfortable underwear or clothes constricting your muscles. Massage rooms can have a darkened room and incense can be burned to create a “mood”. Usually natural oils are used for lubrication where massage chairs require no oil, no “mood-lights or darkened room.
Don’t miss out on an opportunity for a massage, particularly from a robotic massage chair recliner, as it can be quite relaxing and beneficial for your health. The great benefit of the massage chair recliner is that you can get massaged as many times a day and for as long as you want all day long. You might enjoy it and even get relaxed to such an extent that you may fall asleep on the massage chair itself.

Massage and Meditation reduce Chronic Pains

Working hard can bring many positive rewards in advancement through career options, which include promotions, and an increase in wages. Sometimes people work too hard forgetting to take a break or rest which can have a negative effect on people’s health.
One of the most common problems associated with this is chronic pain. In this article, you will find useful information about chronic pain and how two alternative treatment methods, meditation and massage can do wonders in alleviating the symptoms caused by this condition.
What is chronic pain?
Pain that persists for a long period of time beyond the temporal course of natural healing is considered Chronic pain. Chronic pain is usually part of a type of disease or injury and doesn’t tend to go away.
What is meditation?
Meditation focuses on a single thought to soothe the mind, however Eastern styles of meditation use meditation to motivate the mind to cease thinking, thus they call it “non-thought”. Either way you meditate, meditation is the method to medicine that focuses on the form of thought.
What is massage?
Massage is also a therapeutic method that involves soft tissue manipulation and kneading with pressure that can be structured or unstructured, stationary or moving, tension, motion or vibration usually with the hands or with the use of supplementary tools like massage stones and massage oils. Massage comes in different forms but the general goals include deep tissue and muscle relaxation, improvement of blood flow, release of toxins within the body, and release of stress and tension.
How can meditation and massage help chronic pains?
Meditation helps chronic pain by improving oxygen consumption, reduce stres caused by this kind of pain, and improve mood levels. Massage helps reduce muscle tension and calm the body-removing the pain. Massage is often combined with meditation to eradicate stress in the body and mind.
Meditation motivates focused attention and while this will not completely eradicate the pain itself, it helps a person pay attention and respond positively to pain sensations. Moreover, a person who meditates can focus on other positive areas of thought to distract himself or herself from the pain he or she is feeling.
It is advisable to get a massage at least once a month. Better yet, consult a doctor and get advice on how often you are required to have massage therapy for your chronic pain. As for meditation, try finding a restful position that gives you the least amount of pain. While in that position, relax by taking slow deep breaths and relaxing your body and mind.
For a beginner this process may be difficult but with a professional guiding you- pay attention to the areas of the body that gives you pain. Listen to your thoughts, and discover the link between the thoughts and the pain. Trace the pain and learn to confine that pain in such a way that it will not affect your total being anymore.
Massage and meditation will not completely eliminate the problem of chronic pain. Therefore, it is still better to consult a medical doctor about this condition. However, you may make use of massage and meditation to alleviate the symptoms, feel better about yourself, and distract yourself from the pain that this condition is giving you.

Review of the New Sanyo 8700 Massage Chair
January 18, 2010 by Dr. Alan Weidner
Sanyo has just released the Sanyo 8700, a Top of the Line Massage Chair. This chair, like the zero gravity massage chairs-the 6700/7700/8700 is a zero gravity chair with some great upgrades: The Sanyo 8700 has a stretch program that gently squeezes around the ankles and pulls down on the legs to create a great stretch through the low back, hips, and legs. This is a great addition to loosening and releasing the muscle tension. This amazing chair also has 3 incredible zero-gravity programs that vary from creating a full-body experience, to an Air-comfort massage. The Air-Comfort massage utilizes the air cell compression to work the back, leg, and foot, loosening and releasing the muscle tension throughout the body.
The Sanyo 8700 chairs has on the foot ottoman a longer lower leg extension. It extends out 8\” to comfortably accommodate users up to 6\’4\”. Providing a perfect massage with even more flexibility for a wide range of users. In this ottoman the leg and foot pieces are separate allowing for the foot part to rotate down so that if the user doesn\’t want the bottoms of their feet massaged they can rotate this down and have it focus on massaging more the backs of the calves and behind the thighs. This feature is also nice in that this rotation of massage may provide an even greater release of stressed muscles in the lower back.
There is another new feature to this ottoman-the leg and foot pieces are separate. This allows for the foot part to rotate down so that if the user doesn\’t want the bottoms of their feet massaged they can rotate this down and have it focus on massaging more the backs of the calves and behind the thighs. Taller users will find this feature nice-giving them more options.
The Sanyo 8700 also has exclusive GK rollers that have been redesigned and reshaped from older Sanyo models. These rollers are also wider than on past chairs, this provides for even greater back coverage and can thoroughly work out even the most stubborn of knots. The intensity is adjustable to be deeper pressure or can be as gentle as you would like it to be! This chair also has a very sophisticated sensor system. It has a stress sensor that detects the mental fatigue that your body is going through. An exclusive stiffness detection system is available so that the chair can focus on those stiffest areas and release the tension. The last sensor is the Physical Shape Sensor. This adjusts the massage rollers automatically to accommodate various body types and shifts in position during massage.
It is easy to see that this chair is truly Sanyo\’s Top of the Line massage chair, and albeit the early interest in this massage chair has been quite high. If you have always loved the Sanyo massage chairs you\’ll want to try this one out as it seems they have taken all the best things about Sanyo chairs and sifted out the features that needed some fine tuning. The price tag on this model is $5999, which is $1000 more than the very popular 7700 zero gravity massage chair from Sanyo- well worth the extra cost for the best!
You will want to try out the New Sanyo_8700! Visit Dr. Weidner at his website, www.massage-chair-relief.com, and start massaging away Chronic Pain and Stress.

Inada Doctors Choice 3A Massage Chair Product Review
January 15, 2010 by Dr. Alan Weidner
I tested this innovative new postural correction massage chair model from Inada before it was modified and produced for the taller US and Canadian markets. As the Inada doctors choice 3a massage chair reclines it doesn\’t seem to extend out the leg ottoman enough to accommodate my 5\’10\” frame, however the body of the chair seems to fit the width of my body size just fine. Also my toes are sticking out of the feel wells in the leg ottoman. I know that these are two adjustments that they will make from the prototype to the model that will be released to the public.
As the massage starts, the rollers go from my upper back down very low to the sacral area. This is something that is traditionally found in all Inada massage chairs that I love! They have very long back track lengths. With the extended length it feels as if it is doing a complete job working the muscles along the entire length of my spine!
[I:http://www.weightlossdietinformation.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/DrAlanWeidner0.jpg]This Inada-3a-massage-chair has unique technology that has designed it to focus on joint mobilization of the spine and allows for movement in those vertebrae as the muscles relax. It has air cells that inflate and reach around the shoulder girdle to hold the body in place as the rollers arch the back to create that passive movement in the spine. It also has a neck pillow similarly shaped to the travel neck pillows that fully support the head and neck. If a user wanted to get a great neck massage they would need to move this out of the way, as it obstructs being able to feel the rollers in the neck musculature. The only thing that I don\’t like about this positioning is that it does tend to push the shoulder blades medially and therefore sometimes the rollers will run right over them. This can be an uncomfortable feeling.
The air cell compression on the lower leg and feet felt great. The inflation was at the perfect level, not too hard, not too soft. The reflexology plates in the foot wells felt great as well. The rollers give a strong, firm massage integrating the many massage modalities, which I enjoy. This seems to really relax all of the overworked back muscles.
Sometimes it\’s just nice to know how much time you have left, in case you have other things calling for your attention, so it would have been nice to have a time on the remote. I ran the Full Body program, which is the first of several auto programs that this chair features.
You will love this new benefit from the Inada doctors choice 3a massage chair- it has the massaging gel hand sleeves. It fits snugly around your hands and almost feels like a neoprene sleeve that your hands are encased in but then when you start the chair up it starts doing a very soothing, relaxing kneading on the front and back of your hand. It feels wonderful and for anybody that struggles with arthritis or achy stiff hands this feature is wonderful! This is a very unique feature that I have not seen on any other massage chairs.
I feel that overall this is a very effective massage chair and once again Inada has put their attention into the functionality of massage instead of into fluff features that are just for marketing purposes. They have succeeded in reaching their goal of this chair being more a \”chiropractic-esque\” chair! I love Inada massage chairs and feel that they live up to their reputation!
