Eating Right For Exercise Routines Like Hip Hop Abs
December 29, 2010 by Buford Pirkleton

Exercise takes a toll on your body, and one of the ways to be best able to handle this is to eat a proper diet. People who exercise should be careful with their diets in order to get the most out of their workouts, and be able to perform their best. Doing a lot of cardio like in home workout program Hip Hop Abs requires that you take a careful look at what you are eating.
A proper diet for exercising is mostly just like a proper diet, in general. A few things are of increased import, however. Low fat diets are good for you, and good for your exercise regime. The same goes for low sugar diets. You probably are already getting enough protein, but it’s good to double check. Vitamins and minerals will make sure your body can make use of all the nutrients you are giving it.
A high fat diet can make you feel heavy and slow. Though eating a lot of fat doesn’t necessarily impede your workout results, it won’t make you feel good while you do it. Saturated fats can also raise your cholesterol, which is bad for your overall health, so they should be avoided as much as possible.
Eating a lot of sugar makes some people ill. Even people who don’t recognize extreme problems when they eat too much sugar might have less noticeable ones, so it’s worth knowing about. After you take in a lot of sugar, especially refined sugar, your blood sugar rises. Your body sends out signals to take it up, and then your blood sugar abruptly drops. This results in low mood, low energy, and sometimes, nausea. Choosing low-sugar foods can help avoid this.
Getting enough protein is not actually something to be concerned about for most Americans. Protein is found in animal products, soy and other beans, and nuts. You can choose to eat lean red meat if you don’t want to give it up, but poultry, fish, soy and low-fat dairy items are better for your health and function just as well as protein sources.
There has been a lot of hype about taking extra protein in to fuel your workouts. The reality is that yes, you need more protein to exercise a lot than if you don’t. But most Americans are nowhere near protein-deficient, so if you eat a balanced diet, you should be fine. The addition of a bit more protein won’t hurt, either, but don’t overdo it. Athletes, like all people, will perform best on a balanced diet, not one exceptionally high in one nutrient or another.
Vitamins and minerals will help you keep feeling and performing your best. These can be gotten from a pill or bottle or in the form of multivitamins and supplements, but it’s best to get them from your diet. If you eat a balanced diet with a lot of fruits and veggies, there’s no need for supplements. The exception to this is if your doctor recommends them.
Making sure that you do some sort of exercise like Hip Hop abs is a great idea for your overall health. But if you want to feel your best and perform at your top capacity, you need to eat right, too. Most people who change their diets are quite awed at how much improvement they see, and you probably will be, too.
Maintaining a healthy and nutritious routine of eating right is essential for squeezing all you can out of any exercise program whether it be cardio based or something else. Another home program that’s helped people all over the world get in the best shape of their lives in just 90 days is P90X by Tony Horton.
