Boosting Your Kids Health With Juicing

New Year is a good time for many people to make a fresh start and make some resolutions. This year I decided to look at my children\’s health and how I could improve it. It does not have to be New Year though. You can set any date to start a fresh and make important changes to you or your family\’s life.
This year, my main focus was to increase my kids\’ consumption of fruit and vegetables. No easy task, but an important one, especially over winter. The nutritional boost can help protect against colds and other viruses. I wanted them to eat more fresh, preferably organic, produce from the grocery store. In their fresh form, fruit and vegetables contain a huge amount of vitamins and minerals.
For my kids this was no easy task, but I did find a solution in the form of juicing. With juicing they can get a whole lot of nutritional benefit with a variety of different combinations of fruit and veg which stops them from getting boring. A glass of freshly squeezed juice is incredibly nutritious.
The following is some of the main benefits for juicing for kids:
1. You can easily involve you kids in making the fresh juice, which is great bonding time. They can stand on a chair and help you make the juice. They enjoy the process and really appreciate the drink more, which they have made with their own little hands. The clean up only takes about ten minutes and is well worth it.
2. If your children do not really like to eat vegetables, then this is a great way to get them to consume them in their raw state, providing even greater benefits. No more unpleasant dinner times and arguments. You can also get them to eat a wider range of vegetables that you would not normally be able to get them to eat.
3. If your children start to eat more fresh fruit juice you will find they will quickly go off sweet sodas. So not only do they get the benefits from the juice they reduce their intake of sugar, chemicals and additives. These can all contribute to childhood obesity and many illnesses later in life. It will also save you money on buying these expensive drinks as well.
Have you made any goals for your children\’s health this year? If not, then start juicing. If will really benefit their health for many years to come and is also a fun pastime that you can do with your children.

The Benefits Of Drinking Wheat Grass Juice

Like a large variety of grasses reared in the field such as barley, oats and rye, wheat grass belongs to the same group. Most of the juice that is made from wheat grass, however, comes from grass grown indoors on trays. Most of the dehydrated grass that is about 60 days old is usually used in nutritional supplements.
Such juice when mixed with some of the sprouted wheat berries is especially rich in chlorophyll. This beneficial drink is able to neutralize many the toxins in the body as well as slowing down the process of ageing and general cleansing. It is also believed to reduce the risk of developing cancers. Many people are aware of the health benefits of these juices after watching those TV adverts for the Jack Lalanne juicer which extol the virtue of fresh juices.
Wheat grass may benefit a number of diseases as has been indicated by many medical professionals. The herbal medicine is also known to have great healing power just like aloe vera. It is interesting to note that many cats and dogs when ill or sick will often be found nibbling on grass. It is known to neutralize all the rotten food that produces toxins in our alimentary canal and the blood stream. Most of the enzymes that are found in the wheat grass have the power to detoxify most of the known toxins and additives found in our normal daily diet.
The life blood of all plants is chlorophyll which makes the plants green in color. The chlorophyll and enzymes in the wheat grass can be killed by cooking. It is, therefore, advisable not to do this but to consume it in its fresh form. An interesting fact is that many grass eating animals rarely get cancerous conditions, which could be due to them consuming chlorophyll in the fresh form. It is, however, worth pointing out that it is the enzymes in the grass that detoxifies the body and not the chlorophyll.
Many people who have purchased a juicing machine understand all too well the benefits of juicing. Adding wheat grass to the fruit juice will provide a particularly refreshing and healthy drink. These juices are full of essential vitamins and minerals and can contribute to health.
For many years most of the fruit and vegetable juices have been known to have a cleansing effect on our body. Due to these cleansing properties many doctors advise drinking them when feeling unwell. A surprising but little known fact is that weight for weight, wheat grass contains more amounts of protein than fish, eggs and beans and more iron than spinach.
Wheat grass could be thought of as one of the superfoods and more and more people are discovering its health benefits. Experience the wonders of this particular grass and try adding it to your daily diet today.
