Dieting is hard work, just ask anyone who has ever dieted or is currently dieting. Traditional diets have food restrictions and strict guidelines on what you can eat, almost setting you up for failure. When you are deprived of what you love best, you are more likely to give into cravings and stop dieting. When something comes along that allows you to eat what you like and still lose weight like the program Every Other Day Diet, people stand in line to get their chance at trying it.

Exactly how does this work? Simply put, it is a diet consisting of “calorie shifting” or “calorie cycling”. This is where you eat a lot of calories one day and very little the next, tricking your body into believing that it isn’t being restricted but it is. One day you’ll be able to eat all you want, whatever you want and the next you’ll cut calories considerably by eating high protein meals. It is said this helps to maintain metabolism so the body can continue to lose weight while burning fat.

The diet cycles from “burn days” to “feed days”. A feed day is when you are to consume the recommended daily calorie intake plus 50% more. You’ll eat the foods you love, but by controlling portions. On a burn day you’ll drastically reduce your recommended daily calorie intake to 30% to 50%. You’ll eat high protein meals on those days. Some may choose to fast replacing a feed or burn day, this isn’t part of the plan nor recommended.

The good news with that is that there is no sacrificing. On the days you can eat what you want you’ll be able to go ahead and eat those chips, candies, and even fast food if you choose. But you want to do this with control and moderation. It won’t help if you eat a week’s worth of calories during one feed day. This will only hurt your chances of success.

Some people need structure and guidelines when they do anything, even dieting and will find that this may be the right plan for them. There is a guide that tells you what you should eat and how much you need to eat, this way you know the right foods to choose from. There are also some recipes for meals and snacks included in the plan to help you get started.

This has three basic programs for someone to choose from. The Primer plan is where everyone is recommended to start. This is the most flexible, allowing you to eat whatever you want every other day. Then you have the Lifestyle plan to follow and this only allows two feed days, or two days a week to eat what you want. The strictest plan created for bodybuilders and athletes is the Extreme plan.

There are three conditions that come with program in order to make it work for you. The creator stresses that you need to be dedicated to succeed. He also states that there must be some form of exercise incorporated into your life, which is the only way to successfully burn the fat. Lastly, you must be realistic with yourself. Weight doesn’t ever just melt off overnight and you need to be reasonable and set attainable goals.

The plan, Every Other Day Diet, has many followers who have successfully lost weight without starving themselves. It works because the traditional rules are thrown away and it allows you to satisfy your cravings before they begin. Someone that has dedication, willingness, and reasonable goals will be able to successfully lose the weight they want without depriving themselves of what they love.

If you want to lose wieght fast, you sometimes need some tricks and tips to get the job done. Losing weight fast might get you into a smaller size dress or provide better overall health.

Victory in Attaining Your Physical Health is Not Achieved From a Rapid Weight Loss Diet

When people look in the mirror and see themselves, they feel that they are less than perfect enter the rapid weight loss diets. You wouldn\’t normally hear such a statement at the beginning of an article. It only makes sense. What is your motivation? What encouragement works for you to lose weight? No matter which weight loss program you choose, if you don\’t know what compels you to lose weight, the chances of you achieving your goal is slimmer than a stalk of asparagus.

As a personal trainer in the field of physical health and wellness, for the past several years I have noticed many different \”fast weight-loss\” ideas. Remember this vividly: remaining on task and keeping your drive locked on to what you hope to achieve requires assigning tangible objectives. And what you hope to achieve is ? Do you even fully understand the \”reason\” you wish to get rid of some poundage? Determine it, keep it fresh in your mind, and put it on paper so you can SEE it every single day you strive to reach your mark.

Many diets or supplements promise weight loss in the least amount of time. Spending over $33 billion a year on such products it is obvious why they promise it. Is it true? Of course not, most people would like to buy their way to the body they want, rather than put in the effort. The only thing worth buying is plenty of healthy food and a good nutrition guide.

Remember that America is shelling out billions upon billions of dollars every year on the popular fads. So why is the automated USA still the most obese and out-of-shape nation in the world? Let me be the first to tell you (if you really have any doubts) that these diet products DO NOT WORK, and rapid weight loss diets will never cease to rob thousands of dollars from countless despairing dieters every day. Are you someone who has fallen short with one of these diets? Let me be the first to applaud you! That\’s right you are now much more ready for a REAL plan focusing on good healthy food and a reasonable exercise plan that will finally help you meet your objectives.

Rapid weight loss diets have one thing in common: even if you do lose weight while on the diet, once you are off the diet the weight comes back. You must educate yourself with the facts of how food effects every facet of your body including your metabolism and incorporate that knowledge into your life.

Overall victory in your health and well-being means removing the \”rapid weight loss diet\” mentality from your vocabulary. A very important factor for your continued nutrition that will help keep you from giving up involves keeping your food choices \”fresh and exciting.\” Having a small selection of food choices will be less tasty, increase cravings, and it may also fail to provide proper vitamins, minerals, and other key nourishment.

How healthy is it to lose all that weight in such a short amount of time with a rapid weight loss diet? Medical professionals will tell you that the safest amount of weight to lose each week is no more than 2-3 pounds. Among the top reasons to keep the weight loss low: you still need to take in a certain amount of calories to keep your body running on a daily basis. Educating yourself about foods, how to prepare them, and how to exercise the calories away will help you stick to your plan and achieve your goals.

My last \”riddle answer\” is your physical activity commitment something the quick diets generally neglect to mention. I was significantly overweight myself until I recognized that I had to start eating more healthily and getting adequate exercise. Not only do proper nutrition and exercise boost your metabolic rate, they provide you with vitality and a great new look! Self-confidence, understanding, peace and stillness of mind, and love are also attainable. By far, the very biggest reason for all of my success is my substantial weight loss. I can only hope that you are now ready to step out and walk no, RUN to realize all your dreams! I wish you the very best on your upcoming victory!

Calorie Shifting Diets – What Are They and How Do They Work?

November 10, 2009 by

The body’s metabolism controls how slowly or how quickly it burns calories to produce energy, and the metabolism can rise and fall depending on your diet and fitness level. If your metabolism slows down, the number of calories your body burns in a day decreases with it. This is the reason why people experience plateaus after dieting for a few days or weeks — their metabolisms have slowed down to match the decreased intake of calories.

Fortunately, “calorie shifting” can fix this. Calorie shifting is a method of confusing the metabolism to keep it from settling down, ensuring continuous burning of calories as your diet goes along. This results in continued weight loss.

You have to have a good, stable diet in effect for calorie shifting to work for you. It won’t work if you aren’t getting good nutrition and stable calories. You should be on this diet for at least a month before you attempt calorie shifting.

Pick two days from the week, and add 300 calories to your diet on those days. The rest of the week, follow your usual diet.

On the second, choose two other days and eat 500 less calories on those. Maintain the setup from the previous week.

Carrying the setup over from the second week, choose two other days of the week and eat 400 more calories on those days. By this time you’ll realize you’re eating varying amounts of calories throughout the entire week.

Finally pick any two days and eat 500 calories less on those days.

After four weeks of calorie shifting, take two weeks off and eat your regular calorie intake. Then you can try calorie shifting again. You’ll notice that throughout the program, weight loss will come more easily, and you won’t run into plateaus in your regimen anymore.

Calorie shifting works a lot better when you know the right kinds of calories to take in. You’ll want to avoid sodas and junk food as much as you can, since most of the calories you get from these are empty — they may sabotage your efforts.

But remember that you’re not really barred from visiting your favorite fast food restaurant once or twice weekly. It makes the diet a lot more fun than otherwise, and the healthier items on the menu can actually help you lose more weight in the long run. With calorie shifting, you can continue losing weight without starving or exercising beyond sanity.

There are a few calorie shifting diets available online such as Fat Loss For Idiots and the Every Other Day Diet. If you would like more information about these programs, check out our Fat Loss For Idiots review or our review on the Every Other Day Diet.
