Today most everyone is thinking healthy. We want to eat healthy, nutritious food and want to find the most efficient equipment to help us with our workouts. Not all requirements and fitness levels are the same. But with the NordicTrack ACT you have a very good chance to meet your fitness goals.
This fitness equipment is solidly constructed with excellent quality components and runs incredibly smoothly, which in some home equipment is not always the case. It is considered the same quality as gym elliptical equipment but with a reasonable price tag. There are some wonderful features that you will find on it.
One of the important benefits is that the unit is quite small as it uses only 47 inches of space since it is not a rear drive machine but a center drive unit. This allows for a more comfortable upright position for working out. It has been reported by some trainers that since you do not lean on the handrails as much as other units you can benefit from burning more calories.
The unit is equipped with eighteen to twenty-two stride lengths, which you can adjust. The different stride lengths make you work a variety of muscles, which can increase the level of results achieved. You can adjust the strides from eighteen, twenty, and twenty-two. The longest is 22 inches and those that are tall benefit from this stride the most.
One of the great helpful features is the workouts. There are iFit cards containing weeks of workouts on each card with detailed instruction while controlling your resistance. There are goals that you can focus on and the machine does not lose your place. It starts you where you left off.
An iPod port was added to this machine. You can now plug in your iPod or MP3 player into the jack and enjoy music through the sound system built into the unit. When you listen to music your energy level increases and you benefit more from your workout.
Other interesting features you find are the sensors in the handrails that will monitor your heart rate. This will enable you to know when to work harder or to slow down if you are not in your target zone. An animated electronic body works out along with you on the display console. A water bottle receptacle is there ready to hold your water bottle to keep you hydrated. Your unit has a lifetime warranty on the frame and a warranty for 1 year on parts and labor. This elliptical machine may be the one to help you meet your goals.

In This Article You’ll Find The Core Outline Of The Fitness Bleep Test
October 1, 2010 by Gavin McShane Calloway

In 1982, Dr. Maximillion G. Odoowed Ledgear created a multi-stage fitness test, also called the pacer test, 20-m shuttle run test, and Bleep Test. It was created as a way to test the cardiovascular fitness of athletes and people employed with active strenuous jobs, such as the work of police officers and fire fighters.
Out of the two different forms of the test known as the bleep test, (the twenty meter and the fifteen meter) the twenty meter is known to be more difficult because of the longer distance between the cones that are set up for you to travel between.
Training beforehand, is a good idea. The activity you must endure is demanding and will take a lot out of you when you’re not prepared. If you’re not in good shape, you will most likely do poorly when the time comes to sprint. A little preparation and physical conditioning will go a long way in helping to get you to the next level.
To begin, cones are set up either fifteen or twenty meters apart. Participants are then instructed to run back and forth between the cones, turning to run the opposite direction when signaled to do so by a series of pre-recorded beeps.
Different organizations require different minimum passing levels. The test that police officers have to perform, usually start out pretty slow at first. After the first couple levels the speed at which you have to travel begins to increase.
Each level consists of one minute of jogging, running or sprinting. When the minute is up, there will be a beep signaling it’s time to increase your speed. With each passing minute the beeps get closer together. If you don’t reach the line before the next beep, you have to continue running until you catch up with the next beep.
When you can no longer keep up with the beeps, your trial is over. Your score will be tallied by using the number of of shuttles run, and the number of levels you’ve successfully completed.
The Bleep Test is designed to assess the fitness levels of those who are already in good shape. There are many levels, but not many people ever get close to finishing all of them. It’s an extremely challenging test, constructed to take you to the very edge of your physical endurance.
As the stages progress so does the speed at which the test subjects are running. The test given to police officers, starts out at an easy pace. The first couple of stages of the test given to police officers, start out with a light jog. Bleep Test
The Best Way To Come Up With Your Target Heart Rate

Just how can you come up with your target heart rate? Figuring it out doesn’t have to be all that difficult. The thing you need is a method which will take more than your age into account when figuring out your target heart rate. Here we’ll take a look at an easy way you can come up with this rate.
First, you’ll want to find out your resting heart rate to come up with the target heart rate. Take your heart rate while in bed some morning and then record it on a piece of paper so you remember it. An simple way is to use a wrist heart monitor or other type of heart exercise monitor.
The next thing is to take 220 then subtract from that number your age. This will provide you with your maximum heart rate. Once you have the maximum heart rate, subtract your resting heart rate from this number. After you do that, multiply the result by .60. Then multiply it by .70. Add the result in the morning to both of these numbers. After this, you’ll find that the target heart rate really should be somewhere between those two numbers that you calculated.
This is a simple way to get your target heart rate, and it is quite accurate as well. Of course, there are some other tips that you may keep in mind whenever you’re trying to work inside your target heart rate while working out.
First, just be sure you can talk while you exercise. As you work out, if you are in the target heart rate zone, you should have no issue talking. There should be no pauses when you make an effort to talk. Sure, you will breath more heavily, but if you are not able to speak without pausing then you need to ease up on your workout.
Spending time working out at 80% of your maximum heart rate is something you really should do if you are very fit already. This could give your endurance a bit of a boost. Still, you should continue to remember your target heart rate while doing this.
It is a good idea to undertake strength training along with your heart rate training when you focus on your target heart rate. Why should you do this? Well, when you do several sessions per week, you develop more muscle. More muscle will boost your metabolism. Muscle burns off more calories than fat, so don’t just perform aerobic exercises as part of your workouts.
As you can see, uncovering your target heart rate doesn’t have to be that tough. Calculate this rate and apply it when exercising. Also keep the other tips in mind when you exercise. You may change the way you work out, which will improve your overall fitness.
A wrist heart monitor is amongst the more handy heart rate monitors. It is comfortable and readily available during your workouts to watch your heart rate. You should purchase a style which will deliver the features you need. There are many brands available – Nike, Timex, Polar, Mio, Reebok, Garmin and many more.
Set Challenging But Reachable Golf Training Goals
‘I’ve built my career on a succession of goals. Hitting them – and sometimes missing them narrowly – has been the fuel, the impetus that has taken me from one level up to the next’. (Greg Norman, ‘Shark Attack’)
This article is about setting goals. The following method designed by Leslie Cameron Bandler is the best method I’ve seen on goal setting. To begin, ask your self IS MY GOAL ACHIEVABLE? In determining this, consider if anyone else has achieved this goal before? If not, does it feel achievable for you? WHAT WILL I ACCEPT AS EVIDENCE THAT I HAVE ACHIEVED MY GOAL? What will you see, hear and feel when you have achieved your goal. Get a clear sensory based description of your goal.
IS ACHIEVING THIS GOAL WITHIN MY CONTROL? Booking golf instruction lessons with your coach to improve technique, is within your control, so is the effort you put into practice. ARE THE COSTS AND CONSEQUENCES OF REACHING THE GOAL ACCEPTABLE TO ME? Sometimes stepping up a level in golf may mean time away from family or friends, or may break up your regular Saturday playing group. Is that acceptable to you?
DO YOU HAVE ALL THE RESOURCES YOU NEED TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOAL? Is your golf swing good enough? If not, can you find an instructor to refine it? Are you physically in the right shape? Do you need to improve your flexibility, stability and strength? Take the time to make sure you have everything you need to achieve your goal.
Finally, ask yourself, IF I COULD HAVE THE GOAL NOW, or at the appropriate time, WOULD I TAKE IT? Hopefully, you will answer yes to this last question. If not, complete the process again until you find a goal that fits. Learn to set rolling goals. By that I mean, always be aware that there is a future beyond the next goal. You may like to try the process for yourself using any golf goal that is relevant to you:
1. What am I seeking from my life, where do I see myself?
2. Do I have it in me to fulfill my goals?
3. How would I know that my goal has been fulfilled?
4. Do I have it in me to fulfill the target?
5. Am I ready to bear the compromises and costs for this?
6) Do I have all the resources I need to achieve my goal?
7. If I achieve my goal after a certain time would it be acceptable to me?
And you are all set to achieve your goals.

Buying Golf Club Cart Bags Online
Any avid golfer can attest that cart bags are an important accessory to have if you want to pursue golfing. This is because cart bags are tougher, sturdier and larger; they are large enough so that they can carry a full bag (fourteen) of golf clubs. Aside from the clubs, majority of bags also carry other golfing accessories such as towels, gloves, balls, umbrellas and tees.
The most common cart bags today are bags that have multiple purposes than just storing clubs. Some have much more uses than others but the main requisite of any quality cart bag is that the bag needs to be able to hold up to it’s primary purpose of helping the golfer while on the course. The cart bag needs to be able to comfortably cart around the golfer’s clubs while also helping to keep the golfer in prime condition.
Shopping online affords the opportunity to shop for cart bags from many different manufacturers. Some of these manufacturers are Callaway, Cobra, and Nike. Whichever brand you end up choosing, there are a lot of colors, designs and styles that will suit all personalities and personal taste.
The manufacturer Callaway, offers a huge selection of bags in almost every size and style. Perhaps their best model is the Strike Cart Bag. This excellent bag is lightweight and offers great storage with enough space to easily accommodate a full set of clubs as well as accessories such as extra shirts, towels, balls and rain gear.
Another brand often offered is the many different models of Ping bags. One of the most popular Ping bags is the incredibly durable Pioneer LC bag. The Pioneer has 7 accessible pockets that can help even the most needy golfer organize all their accessories. It also has a 14-way divider with great deep pockets that can keep your eyewear and water bottler safe. This particular brand is a top seller worldwide and its quality and durability are unmatched.
If you are looking to buy a cart bag then it would likely be in your best interest to compare prices on the internet and also to check out the testimonials and reviews from current owners. The amount of cart bags available is seemingly limitless, but with all that choice comes the difficult task of picking out the perfect bag because you definitely don’t want to get stuck with a poor quality bag. Purchasing your next bag on the internet ensures you get exactly what you want and allows you to make the best choice for you.
Don’t be left out in the cold without a golf cart heater. Shop smart and buy a Coleman golf cart heater cheap.
Get Ripped Abs

Want ripped abs? Think you are too skinny for ripped abs. With an investment of time and hard work you too can have ripped abs.
Keep Your Plan in Focus Stay focused on your goal, ripped abs, and create a workout program that ‘fits’ your life. A workout program that consists of “circuit training” elements; bench presses, military presses, bicep and leg curls, rowing, back extensions, squats and dead lifts creates maximum variety so your muscles work hard and you don’t get bored. Work your program only three to five days a week and see results.
Ab Work First The beginning of your workout is when you are the freshest; by starting with your abs you are more likely to work them harder. Also your abs will stay engaged and working throughout the entire workout.
Tax Your Muscles to the Max For ideal results your exercise sets need to consist of 10 to 12 reps per set at a weight that is easy at the start but by the end is a challenge to lift. Do not hurt yourself; it may take a few sets to find your ideal weight to lift. Remember, once you find the ideal weight to lift, every two to three weeks you need to increase the weight. Your muscles will get used to lifting that weight and you need to keep pushing your muscles.
Rest to Repair Once you have worked your muscles they need to rest and repair. It is ideal to lift weights every other day. When you weight train you are actually breaking down, fatiguing or ‘injuring’ the muscle. It is important that your muscles have a day to repair before they are fatigued again; thus becoming bigger and stronger.
Good Nutrition and Plenty of Sleep A diet that includes fresh fruits and vegetable, lean protein from chicken and beef, fish and omega-3 fatty acids and monounsaturated fatty acids and complex carbohydrates coupled with plenty of sleep are important to obtaining ripped abs. A good diet is the necessary fuel and ample sleep provides the body a chance to repair itself. If you struggle to get enough calories reach for a meal replacement, shake not junk food.
