If you’re a NY Knicks fan, then I must say I’m sorry. Dreams were crushed for New Yorkers last night as Lebron announced his move to the Miami Heat.

This announcement couldn’t have been any worse for NY fans. The current roster for the Knicks is laughable as the player of the future is Danilo Gallinari. Unfortunately, that won’t do it. Well, they did get Amare, but can he stay healthy? Probably not!

It can’t get much worse for Knicks fans and it’s been pretty bad. I can’t see it changing anytime in the next five years, so get used to the embarrassing games. The only positive to come out of this for New York fans is the cheap tickets they’ll be able to score.

There really isn’t much to look forward to as a Knicks fan. If you want to see good basketball, you can look forward to the Heat coming to NY and tearing the Knicks apart. Or Amare Stoudemire pulling a Marbury and eating up cap space.

Then Nate Robinson will come back to MSG and bring some excitement. Expect a monster dunk from the little guy. And it’s only a matter of time before Marbury starts speaking his mind about the Knicks organization.

This Knicks era is going to be very bad. It’s going to be worse than the Travis Knight days. I can’t believe I just said it, but it’s the truth. I guess Sir Barkley was right when he said the Knicks would be cursed forever when they decided to trade Patrick Ewing for Glen Rice and Luc Longley.

For anyone who works for the Knicks, they must know what their future’s going to bring. They’re probably trying to make some changes, but there’s not much they can do at this point. They missed the boat, unless they want to put together some sign and trade deals. Players like Tracy McGrady, Eddie House and Al Harrington are available, but in my opinion (as well as many experts) these guys are just getting older and slowing down. That’s not what the Knicks need now!

So it doesn’t look like it will get much better. They do not have a first round pick in 2012 and Houston has the right to trade picks with them for next year’s draft. As a Cavs fan, they have it pretty bad too although the Cavs will still be better than the Knicks even without Lebron.

During the World Cup qualifiers and the European Championships Spain produced goals like no team I’ve ever seen before. It was never a problem as they simply knew how to find the back of the net. However, in the 2010 World Cup Spain had trouble scoring in the finals against Netherlands.

It was just a matter of time before one of their chances went in. They had the momentum and all experts were saying Spain would do it as the game went on. Finally, a red-card was drawn and that played a big role in opening up some space for Spain.

The man to find the back of the net was Andres Iniesta. It was in the 116th minute, which was obviously in overtime when he scored the winner. They had several great chances throughout the game, but just couldn’t capitalize.

Many teams would have lost their focus, but Spain’s persistent attack is what makes them so good. They knew it would finally come and it did. This was actually the story of the tournament for them as they only scored 8 goals throughout the World Cup. Typically, a championship team will score more than that. This didn’t bother Spain, or if it did they brushed it off and kept working hard.

Things could have been different if the Netherlands capitalized on some of their chances. Arjen Robben had two great chances, one in which some believe is a controversial no-call. If any of these opportunities went in, who knows what would have happened? Instead, they walk away with their 3rd loss in the World Cup finals.

While the Netherlands secured the title as under-achievers, Spain secured the Euro Cup and World Cup titles at the same time. Only West Germany and France have produced such results.

Spain looked like some what of a different team than at the Euro Cup. Regardless if people think they look worse or better, they still know how to get the job done. Most experts believe they’ve slowed down a bit, but they’re still the best even after slowing down a bit!

It’s not easy playing in these games for four weeks in Africa. After a long professional season, the bodies of these players need a rest and for this reason, having a deep bench is crucial.
