The fact is that obesity is growing at an alarming rate among the youth of USA. In fact a huge sum of approximately $ 2 billion is spent on revival of those who are obese every year. This all is attributed to the reason that youth of today are indulging themselves in unhealthy eating habits and the routine that they follow has no physical exertion in it at all as they prefer to watch TV and play on their computers instead of going out in the play grounds.

Bad eating habits lead to several diseases of the heart and other medical problems which become complicated with passage of time. These diseases have a long term effects on the overall health of the person and also affects the entire family.

The other problem is when people realize that their weight is getting excessively increased; they can’t seem to stop themselves from eating. This is known as compulsive eating. Compulsive eaters actually act upon their instincts when they come across food of their liking. In most of the cases youth who are addicted to eating junk food find it hard to stop them when they see a fast food joint and end up grabbing a bite just because it’s there.

The best is to adopt healthy eating habits yourself and help your children to follow suite so that they do not fall victim to obesity and its other related problems. but when a person has gained excessive weight the tendency is to look around to find help in getting rid of it. although the best way is to burn out the fat with exercise but this is usually an option which is hard for people to adopt, especially when the weight gain is too much.

    If hoodia ACTUALLY worked, there wouldn’t be any fat people in Namibia (where it comes from, and where they all eat it), but in Namibia, just like everywhere else, the wealthier people are the fatter they are.

  2. There is definitely no alternative to a healthy lifestyle! While some supplements can assist you in your weight loss efforts, they will never do the trick by themselves.

  3. There is no doubt that obesity is reaching epidemic proportions in the US. You touched on several of the reasons (lack of exercise and compulsive eating) and here are a few more: food products loaded with refined sugars, food products with refined carbohydrates, trans fat and constant advertising by food companies promoting highly processed food products.

    I hope you noticed I said “food products” and not food. Real food contains little or no additives. A healthy diet of real foods and regular physical exercise are the key to sustained weight loss and a healthy lifestyle.
