Losing Fat The Right Way!

by Chris Clark

Let me start off by telling you that the first thing that you are going to want to do is get yourself a gym membership, once you have that taken care of you are ready to get down to business….

A lot of people have this idea that the less you eat the more weight you will lose, well that is true, but a big portion of that weight won't be fat. In fact, if you are practically starving yourself by only intaking 900 or so calories a day you can be sure that you are also losing muscle mass, which weighs more than fat. So, if you're losing something that weighs more than fat, it is only logical that you are going to lose weight, but muscle is not what you want to lose, if it is, I suggest you stop reading and find another place to help you accomplish the goals you want to accomplish.

However, if your goal is to eliminate fat while maintaing or even increasing muscle mass then you should listen up. In order to lose fat and lose it effectively, meaning without the fear of it coming back in one or two weeks you need to EAT! Yeah, I said it, you need to eat. Now I didn't say that you need to eat like a pig.

An easy way to find out how many calories you should be eating is to take your body weight and multiply it by 15. Once you do this, subtract that number by 500 or so. An example of this is from my own personal experience. I weighed in at about 220 pounds five months ago.
So I did my calculations. 220 x 15=3300 calories. Then 3300 minus 500 equals 2800. Therefore, my daily calorie intake was 2800 calories. Following this regime I am now down to 198 pounds.

The only time I would not recommend this way of going about cutting off those pounds is if you are in the 300 and up club. At this point you would still use your body weight multiplied by 15, but instead of you subtracting 500, I would recommend you subtracting 2000 calories, but no more than that.

Another thing to note, is that it is not good enough to simply cut these calories from your diet. Believe it or not, you do have to exercise as well. Surprise, Surprise right?
