Losing Fat Fast – News

Dieters don’t want to feel like they’re missing out all the time, or they just become demoralised. The problem is heightened when we’re not just cooking for ourselves – nibbling our own lightweight morsels whilst the aroma of ‘real food’ wafts under our nostrils! This is hard to sustain, so why not blend one into the other and still keep everybody happy?

Whatever we serve up, when we’re aiming to lose weight the first thing we can address is our portion size. Starting a meal with a full plate is very gratifying, so why not buy yourself a smaller plate? Allow everyone else to start eating first, and then take small mouthfuls and chew them well. You won’t always finish your meal ahead of the others then, but you will feel more sated.

Try most days to eat the same family meal as everyone else – just big up the (steamed) vegetables and restrict fats, pastries and heavy sauces. Just don’t be tempted to fill up on bread rolls! If the family like their puddings, prepare ones that you can have a taste of. Try to stick with fruit and low fat yoghurt, although sugar-free jellies can be nice.

But you can also sneak in the odd diet meal for the whole family. No-one need suspect they’re eating a low-cal meals with some of the recipes you can use. Pasta can be really enhanced with basil – grow some on the kitchen windowsill. Then throw in some black olives and a can or two of tomatoes for the sauce.

When buying food, go for reduced fat dairy products and lean meat. No matter whether your partner or kids could do with losing weight, this will still do them good. Everyone likes lean white meat – just make sure the skin’s been taken off yours before eating. Potatoes can be nice and filling for slimmers – just buy ones with a creamy texture. You won’t need to add butter before serving then.

Whole wheat or oats are the best cereals to buy – and choose ones that don’t have any additional sugar. Equally don’t be fooled by nutritious sounding cereal bars – again they’re loaded with sugar. Drinks can also really load on the calories. If you drink cola or other sodas, always buy the diet varieties.

Attempt to limit your alcoholic intake as that can really boost the calories. What about carbonated water or diet ginger ale? Watered down apple juice makes a passable wine lookalike if you don’t want to be different from the crowd.

Clearly, we can’t keep consuming the same things and expect to drop the weight. But it’s amazing how a small shift here and there can dramatically help along the way.
