We begin with a simple look of what causes acne, move into homemade acne treatment recipes made right from home, and finally a few recommended cheap over-the-counter herbal remedies. Stop paying for over price acne pills and read on for lots of free ideas.
To start, let’s look at what causes acne. Breakouts occur when excess bacteria and oil clog up your pores and follicles. So, to begin the process of clearing up your acne, you need to keep your skin clean and the pores clear, which is easier said than done.
Let’s begin with a simple facial clean and scrub. Unfortunately, many people “over-wash” their skin. But wasn’t that the goal? Clean Skin? Well…yes, but when you clean your skin to much, your skin produces more oil, which clogs your pores and leads to further breakouts and acne. This cycle would never end, but to fix it, try using a pH balanced, soothing herbal based gentle face wash.
Along with keeping your skin nice and clean, you need to exfoliate to get rid of excess dead skin cells and unclog those pores. To do this, try making a natural facial scrub with baking soda and water OR sugar and water. Start with the baking soda or sugar and add small amounts of water until you form a paste. Massage the paste all over your face once or twice a week. Initially your skin will feel incredible! Plus, this will also help heal any acne scarring you have. Note: some people have very sensitive skin, so it is advisable to test this out on a small area of skin first.
Let’s move on from the scrub to a homemade acne treatment vinegar tonic you can make at home. This concoction can be made right in the comfort of your own home and will help reduce any blotchiness or redness you have on your skin. To begin:
Begin with a glass of water
Next, mix 1 tablespoon of apple vinegar with the water
Dip a cotton ball into the mixture and massage it onto your face – making sure to cover all your red spots
Try keeping the mixture on as long as possible, for best results, leave on overnight and rinse in the morning
Take the remaining solution and put it in your refrigerator for future uses. Use it every night and you should see results within a few weeks.
How about making a homemade facial mask to treat your acne? It’s very easy to make and apply. This mask was designed for dry skin and is called a pineapple honey acne mask.
Even though you have dry skin, it is still possible to have blotchiness and acne. But this great mask will help to naturally exfoliate dead skin cells and at the same time clean your pores WITHOUT drying out your skin. It’s easy to make and apply, so let’s get started.
Put a cup of pineapple in a cup and mash it all up (rinse the juice off when finished)
Add 1 tablespoon of honey and mix
Smooth over clean skin and let it sit for about 20-30 minutes then rinse off well.
