Healthy Way To Lose Weight Book Reviews: “The Kind Diet” Weight Loss & Lose Weight Method

I’m sure most will agree real solutions are needed. We are in a overweight crisis in this country and around the world. We, by in large, are losing the battle of the bulge, giving way to an epidemic of obesity. This book has some answers in my opinion and begins with a great endorsement in its opening pages.

Neal Barnard M.D., does the honors of giving the foreword in “The Kind Diet”. Dr. Barnard has the distinction of being the president of The Cancer Project, a nonprofit organization advancing cancer prevention and survival through nutrition, education and research. He is the author of dozens of publications in scientific and medical journals as well as numerous nutrition books for lay readers.

Dr. Barnard a gives a pretty strong endorsement of the book. His statements suggests Silverstone’s work is not just another healthy way to lose weight burn fat book but it could be life changing and world impacting. Now coming from a person of such status and with such notable credentials in the medical community that’s a powerful endorsement I would say. With that said, let me be so bold as to mention a viewpoint in the pages of The Kind Diet I don’t 100% agree with.

It has to do with what the book says about the eating of animals. If you enjoy occasional chicken or beef and cannot “stomach” the idea of not satisfying that urge for an occasional burger you may not be able to adapt to “The Kind Diet”. The foundation of the book is solidly vegetarianism. Not even chicken breast nor high in omega 3, baked salmon would make it into the line up of the ideal Kind Diet meal plan.

What I struggled with during my read of “The Kind Diet” was not the validity behind the idea of abstinence from meat for better health. In fact, I agree this can most certainly be a healthy way to lose weight and burn fat. As suggested by the author, however, one of the several reasons we should not indulge in eating meat is for philosophical reasons. That’s were I differ in viewpoint.

I just don’t agree that a guilt trip on moral grounds should be imposed on anyone who chooses to eat meat in their diets. “Eating Meat: A Health Issue or Moral Issue”is an article posted at my personal blog that gives my actual feelings on the morality of choosing to eat meat or not.

Yes, Silverstone’s book is a healthy way to lose weight, burn fat and feel better. I encourage my blog readers to get the book if for no other reason than for the delicious,satisfying, fat busting recipes in the last section of the book. You won’t find any hamburger helper dishes there however.

There is no doubt in my mind The Kind Diet’s extreme approach will help many people experience a healthy way to lose weight and burn fat but hopefully without a guilt trip for having an occasional burger or barbecue.
