The Every Other Day Diet means that you have one day of eating normally and the one day of eating light. The day where you eat light consists of 300-400 calories. Created by Dr. John Daugirdas, it was meant to help with weight loss but not feel like they are being deprived.
Those who suffer from heart or kidney disease, hypertension, diabetes, strokes or eating disorders should not use this diet. The diet has not received complete and comprehensive studies.
Some diets, like the low calorie ones, can cause the metabolism to slow down. In an effort to avoid this, the diet was designed to allow certain days of eating regularly.
Eat a big breakfast on normal days; but, do not eat after 7pm. Restrict the amount of sweets eaten and choose healthy foods. Do not eat too much.
On average, a man should consume around’00-2400 calories a day. 1200-1800 is recommended for women. Remember that your age and how active you are will also factor in to your caloric intake.
The Every Other Day Diet teaches you a new approach to calories, fat and how your body processes them. Fat is fuel and is a necessary part of your diet. Losing weight does not mean starving yourself. Fat is part of our every day eating. Attempting to do away with it is unrealistic.
Diets that want you to stay away from fatty foods lead you to believe that eating this food period will hinder your goal to lose weight. So, you put on an act of not liking this food at the beginning. Eventually, you have a craving and satisfy it. Then you feel guilty because you think you have now hurt your chances of losing weight.
This belief is false. If you do not satisfy the need for the foods occasionally, you will fail. With the Every Other Day Diet, you get to eat this food and feel satisfied. Planned Variance is the eating plan. You have days that are burn days where high protein, low calorie foods and a set amount of carbs can be eaten. Then the other days, feed days, eat what you want. Use reason on these days. The diet creates variety which means you will not over eat or feel like you are famished.
Every other day, you can consume junk food at one of your meals. The other days require you to eat 5 times a day consuming a specified food. The diet also consists of several eating programs depending on your needs. For the extreme fitness person, the ultimate plan is available. Bodybuilders use the extreme plan, fat burning is done with lifestyle phase 2, beginners and others can choose from lifestyle phase 1 or the primer plan.
Research on animals has shown that eating this way is promising and may increase life expectancy. The psychological aspect may make dieting easier since you only have to stick to it for one day.
The EODD diet means that you have one day of eating normally and the one day of eating light. The day where you eat light consists of 300-400 calories. Check out our Diet Reviews for more info on the perfect diet for you!

The diet has not been completely evaluated for its effectiveness; but, anyone who has the following illnesses should not use this diet: kidney or heart disease, diabetes, eating disorders, strokes or hypertension.
Eating normally every other day is believed to assist dieters in avoiding their metabolism decreasing which often happens with low calorie diets.
Learning a new way to think about fat, calories and how your body handles both is the primary goal of this diet. Understand that fat is fuel for our bodies. It is also a part of everyday life. There is no way to completely eliminate fat from all foods. Dieting does not mean that you have to starve or feel deprived.
The majority of diets ask you to ignore the fact that you like foods that may be high in fat. You start off following the requirements to the letter. Then, something happens and you slip up a little. Because you have been told that fatty foods will mean no weight loss, you feel guilty.
This could not be farther from the truth. The diet will fail at some time because of being deprived. The Planned Variance eating plan will keep this from happening on this diet. Some days you can eat what you want as long; as it is reasonable. Other days, a reasonable amount of carbs combined with high protein, low calorie food will be required. This plan allows you to feel satisfied without the chance of over eating.
Five food plans are included. The Primer Plan for beginners, The Lifestyle Phase 1 Plan for beginner and intermediate dieters, The Lifestyle Phase 2 Plan for fat burning, The Extreme Plan for body builders and The Ultimate Plan for those obsessed with fitness. You will eat certain types of foods 5 times a day. You can have junk food at one meal every other day.
Research on animals has shown that eating this way is promising and may increase life expectancy. The psychological aspect may make dieting easier since you only have to stick to it for one day.
The EODD program means that you have 1 day of eating regular food and the 1 day of eating light. The day where you eat light consists of 300-400 calories. Read our Diet Reviews for more info on the perfect diet for you!
Calorie Shifting Diets – What Are They and How Do They Work?
November 10, 2009 by Ernesto Martinez
The body’s metabolism controls how slowly or how quickly it burns calories to produce energy, and the metabolism can rise and fall depending on your diet and fitness level. If your metabolism slows down, the number of calories your body burns in a day decreases with it. This is the reason why people experience plateaus after dieting for a few days or weeks — their metabolisms have slowed down to match the decreased intake of calories.
Fortunately, “calorie shifting” can fix this. Calorie shifting is a method of confusing the metabolism to keep it from settling down, ensuring continuous burning of calories as your diet goes along. This results in continued weight loss.
You have to have a good, stable diet in effect for calorie shifting to work for you. It won’t work if you aren’t getting good nutrition and stable calories. You should be on this diet for at least a month before you attempt calorie shifting.
Pick two days from the week, and add 300 calories to your diet on those days. The rest of the week, follow your usual diet.
On the second, choose two other days and eat 500 less calories on those. Maintain the setup from the previous week.
Carrying the setup over from the second week, choose two other days of the week and eat 400 more calories on those days. By this time you’ll realize you’re eating varying amounts of calories throughout the entire week.
Finally pick any two days and eat 500 calories less on those days.
After four weeks of calorie shifting, take two weeks off and eat your regular calorie intake. Then you can try calorie shifting again. You’ll notice that throughout the program, weight loss will come more easily, and you won’t run into plateaus in your regimen anymore.
Calorie shifting works a lot better when you know the right kinds of calories to take in. You’ll want to avoid sodas and junk food as much as you can, since most of the calories you get from these are empty — they may sabotage your efforts.
But remember that you’re not really barred from visiting your favorite fast food restaurant once or twice weekly. It makes the diet a lot more fun than otherwise, and the healthier items on the menu can actually help you lose more weight in the long run. With calorie shifting, you can continue losing weight without starving or exercising beyond sanity.
There are a few calorie shifting diets available online such as Fat Loss For Idiots and the Every Other Day Diet. If you would like more information about these programs, check out our Fat Loss For Idiots review or our review on the Every Other Day Diet.

Fat Burning Furnace Review – The Right Kinds Of Food For Weight Loss
November 4, 2009 by Ernesto Martinez
When trying to lose weight, it’s very important to know what you eat — experts say that 80% of weight loss is influenced by your nutrition, much more than what you actually do in the gym. That simply means that if you eat the right kinds of food, your efforts in the gym will pay off bigger dividends. This article will discuss the right kinds of food when following the Fat Burning Furnace Diet.
With all the low-calorie, low-fat, and low-carb diets out there, it’s easy to wonder which one’s really work. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, but the Fat Burning Furnace Diet has many of the strengths of the various diets available. The long and short of it is that when you take in more calories than your body really needs, you build up fat. This means to lose weight, you’ll need to create a calorie deficit — that is, take in fewer calories than your body really needs. A deficit of 3,500 calories spread over a week (500 less calories a day) is enough to result in 50 pounds of weight loss in a year! You can bring about a calorie deficit in two ways — by burning the calories in the gym, or switching to healthier food alternatives.
The right kinds of carbs come in whole wheat or whole grain form. Always go for complex carbohydrates and avoid its simpler forms (such as refined sugar).
THE RIGHT PROTEINS – Research has found that .04 grams of protein for each pound of bodyweight provides a sufficient amount for most people’s body growth and maintenance.
The right kinds of fat — that’s right, fat — can be found in fish and fish oil, nuts, flaxseed, natural peanut and almond butters, olive oil (extra virgin), and seeds. Avoid the fats you find in corn, margarine, soybean, and cottonseed oils. Avoid shortening, too.
The right vegetables and fruits include apples, melons, bananas, and berries. Eat more dark leafy green vegetables like green beans, asparagus, lettuce, and broccoli.
Water is very important in overall health and fitness, after all the body is 65-70% water. Benefits of water include: aids in food digestion, carries nutrient through the body, increases body harmony, rids waste in the body, lubricates the joints, aid muscles while exercising and regulates and maintains body temperature.
EXAMPLE OF DAILY MEALS/ SNACKS WHILE USING FBF: Breakfast – High fiber whole grain cereal with skim milk, Lunch – Chicken sandwich with whole grain bun with green beans, Snack – Apples and nuts, Dinner – Healthy stir-fry with brown rice, Snack – Oranges with cottage cheese.
There are a lot of discussions on blogs and forums about the validity of this diet, if you would like to learn more and find out why there is no fat burning furnace scam, read the full review of check out other weight loss reviews.

Jillian Michaels Diet – Can You Lose as Much Weight as “The Biggest Loser” Online?
October 23, 2009 by Ernesto Martinez

If you’ve ever seen The Biggest Loser on TV, then you know Jillian Michaels. She is the tough physical trainer with the pink shirts. Her contestants have been winners last three times. Because her programs are so effective, she has decided to move her training online to be able to reach more people looking to turn their lives around. But is this online version of Jillian’s training as good as the show?
First, like the contestants that are lucky enough to be on The Biggest Loser, acknowledging that you want to improve your health is the first step. Yet getting chosen for the show is liken to winning the lottery, so many “real” people outside reality television have to do it on their own. Secondly, the past three winners have lost 140, 110 and 112 pounds, respectively. They had two professional trainers, state-of-the-art gym equipment, healthy food and doctors at their fingertips.
Yes, it is. This has been proven by the many contestants on the biggest loser who had to go home early and still continue to lose weight. They no longer have the advantages of the show; all they have left is their motivation and what they learned. Now, Jillian Michaels has brought her unique training style to the Internet. You can get one of her plans customized for you online.
Rather than forcing you into a little premade whole based on “the average”, Jillian Michaels diet program starts with a questionnaire. The questionnaire asks you about your height, age, weight, and lifestyle, including what exercises you enjoy and what exercises you do, the foods you love and your body type. It even takes into account past injuries. Then she gives you instant results showing your body type, and the best exercise and food choices for you.
Of course, like any diet program there is a small fee to use it, about four dollars a week. That’s really not such a huge amount when you think about the money it cost to join gyms and other similar programs. For some people, this might be just the thing they’re looking for. Once you join the program, you get access to all sorts of things like online buddies, advice from Jillian, information on behavior modifications, calorie calculators, meal plans recipes, fitness advice videos and printable exercises. Of course, before starting any exercise program you should consult your doctor, and wearing that pink shirt might not hurt either.

The Dr. Siegal Cookie Diet Revealed!
October 18, 2009 by Ernesto Martinez
Everyone is talking about the cookie diet made famous by its creator; Dr. Sanford Siegal. He is a medical doctor who has devised a weight loss plan based on “healthy cookies” and shakes as meal replacements. Similar in concept to the Slimfast Plan, the diet consists of eating 6 cookies a day and 1 healthy meal for dinner.
According to his star clients, this diet does work. He has had success with over 500,000 patients following his program. He uses his own special protein-based formula for his cookies which helps with appetite control. Protein and fiber helps you stay fuller longer. He even bakes the cookies in his own special bakery every day.
The main drawback of this diet is how restrictive it is. It focuses on only having 800-1000 calories each day. The majority of its meals are made up of either a cookie or shake. Some people can work well with this restrictive diet, while others are still looking for snacks even after the cookies.
Another point is that there is no exercise or weight maintenance program once you have reached your goal. So when you go off the diet, you will eventually gain back the weight unless you resume dieting. Permanent weight loss is obtained when you permanently change your normal eating habits. Studies show that once you go off a diet and resume normal eating, most dieters tend to gain the weight back plus an additional 10 pounds or more.
While the diet does seem to be effective in losing weight, and many of his celebrity clients swear by it, it may not be something that will work for the majority of the population. The doctor began this program in his own practice and states that some of his patients have a medical condition that keeps them from losing weight by other methods. This condition is known as Hypothyroidism, which means that the thyroid is not working to properly regulate the metabolism. This also contributes to a condition known as Insulin Sensitivity. Both of these problems cause weight gain in both men and women. In cases like this, restricting calories causes the metabolism to slow down even more to conserve energy. This type of diet wouldn’t work for people with these conditions.
Pros: Many, many people have had success on this diet. Seen on “The Morning Show”, CNN and Today Celebrity endorsements for the products; big name celebrities like Denise Richards and the Kardashian sisters, Ashlee Simpson and others. Cookies can also be eaten as a healthy alternative to other snack foods.
Cons: At 800-1000 calories per day, it is much more restrictive than other diets. Many people find it difficult to eat something besides a healthy dinner and six cookies a day. The program does not cover weight maintenance or exercise Although the cookies do in fact, help curb hunger, they are not sweet cookies, and many people say they do not taste very good
To get more information about these diet cookies, click the following URL for a complete review of Dr Siegal’s Cookie Diet. Or, read another cookie diet reviews.
